Port Charlotte is the peated version of Bruichladdich, with a peat measured at around 50 parts per million (PPM). The Port Charlotte Islay Barley is characterized by the origin of the barley, fully supplied by the island of Islay, home of the distillery.
the peat is immediately evident, but it is not intrusive at all. Mildly sweet, it releases vanilla, licorice root and citrus fruit (lemon jam). Black pepper and sulfur complete the aromatic bouquet.
