TASTING NOTES TALISKER 1981/2002 SHERRY CASKS

Nose

peat and sherry at first. Very fine and elegant, you don't perceive the particularly high gradation. It is then the turn of red fruits, with cherry and blackberry.

Palate

spices, including nutmeg and black pepper, along with an important salinity. Then red fruits, with hints of cherry, blackberry, black cherry and strawberry. The Talisker character comes through.

Finish

very long and complex. Notes of black pepper, peat, spices and red fruits (cherry) are perceptible.

The almost perfect marriage between the various components and a great age, that never overpowers the whisky from the the proud Isle of Skye, give rise to an excellent result. Magnificent.
