Nismes-Delclou was founded by Baron Hausmann in 1832. This armagnac XO was bottles by Berry Bros. & Rudd of St James, London.
good intensity, mostly prune juice, orange Jaffa cakes, vanilla flavoured coffee and precious (bourbon-like) woods/varnishes. Pleasant, maybe a touch too active oak.
very very sweet. Light-weight. Candy sugar, apricot liqueur, milk chocolate, more vanilla infused coffee and then earth. It gets very gritty. Wood spice, tannins and ginger.
medium persistence. Honeyed, very dry. Tannins.
Overall, the Nismes-Delclou XO Berry Bros. & Rudd is a pleasant, approachable, little light-weight armagnac. The wood/vanilla duet is a bit excessive and tends to overwhelm the rest of the flavor profile.
