The Opthimus 25 years Old is a rum made in the Dominican Republic, by Oliver y Oliver. The company was established in Cuba back in 1868, by Juanillo Oliver. During the Cuban revolution, the member of the family left the and only in 1993 the family business was bought back, and the chosen country was the Dominican Republic.
Rich scents of nuts, among which hazelnut stands out. Then dark chocolate and red fruit.
Very sweet. Notes of ripe exotic fruit, mainly dates, are followed by dark chocolate. Sugary.
Medium persistence. Vegetable hints and fine spices, the latter barely perceivable.
Overall, the Opthimus 25 years old is a rum equipped with a rich flavor profile, but it is very sweet and its sweetness is almost overwhelming.
