Kadhambam stands for "combination" as a vatting (90% single malt from Amrut and 10% peated single malt from Amrut) aged in ex-sherry, ex-Amrut brandy, and ex-Amrut rum barrels.
On the nose scents of wood, with a rich mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and cloves. Then dried fruit, a spicy tip (paprika, cumin, ginger), and toasted hints. On the palate, plums, and chocolate with black cherries, followed by wood spices, seasoned wood, and toasted notes. Later butterscotch is added. The finish is medium-long, again with butterscotch, toasted notes, and a mix of spices. Intense and gifted with a bold structure.
90Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
