Ardara Single Malt Irish Whiskey, 2025 Edition, comes from the Sliabh Liag Distillers on Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast. Crafted from 100% malted barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, it is matured primarily in ex-bourbon casks before a final rest in hand-selected sherry wood.
The nose opens with fresh lemon peel and vanilla, layered with a gentle sea breeze and toasted oak. On the palate, it’s silky and vibrant, offering honeyed malt, pear, salted caramel, and a hint of spices, together with peat. The finish is clean yet lingering, marked by sweet malt, subtle salinity, and warming oak. A refined, coastal-influenced whiskey.
90Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
