Arran 17 year old Limited Edition is the distillery’s one-off limited release of 2023. It is matured in a mix of first and second fill Sherry Hogshead and first fill Bourbon barrels.
Sherry notes, with bloody oranges and strawberry jam, ripe plums and raisins. Secondary notes of butterscotch, toasted oak and creamy banana are also present. Sweet, with vanilla, together with cinnamon and an acidic fresh ginger note making it even more interesting. Rich and complex, with a broad flavor profile. Rounded, yet with an unexpected fragrant spicy kick at the end. Creamy and long lasting.
95Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.</p
