The Taiwanese distillery’s Solist range is matured in unconventional woods. These whiskies are single barrel bottled at cask strength. In this case, we have Barriques that have previously contained white and red wines before being re-toasted. Every numbered bottle presents the barrel provenance and the signature of the Master Blender.
In the glass, it releases sweet notes of dark chocolate, caramel and tropical fruit. Spiced notes are added to the palate. The finish is long and intense, with ripe tropical fruit and a profusion of cocoa and red fruit.
92Among the whiskies tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those that scored the best got selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared and the TOP 10 is made.
