This ron is another excellent product of the Dominican distillery Oliver & Oliver. After twenty-five years of maturation in bourbon casks, this special version of the Opthimus undergoes a precious finish in Port pipes. Bottled at 43% ABV, it is a traditional Spanish-style ron apparently creamy and sweet with a surprising boisè personality.
Aromas of sponge cake, raisins, custard, and a touch of dark chocolate. Echoes of nutmeg. Notes of candied orange are added on the palate. Almond and noble wood in the finish.
92Among the rum tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those who scored the best were selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
