This rare Mizunara-aged expression from Barbancourt marries Haitian agricole precision with the exotic elegance of Japanese oak in a limited edition of 5000 bottles.
The nose opens with floral spice, cedar shavings, and ripe tropical fruit layered over the signature grassy freshness. On the palate it’s supple and refined, blending tamarind, toasted coconut, and sandalwood with a gentle agricole earthiness. The Mizunara aging brings incense-like spice and soft tannins, adding depth without overwhelming the distillate’s natural clarity: a match made in heaven.
92Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
