Bomberger’s Declaration Distillery Bourbon honors the legacy of the former distillery known as Bomberger’s in the 1800’s and later as Michter’s in the 20th Century. The aging is made in Chinquapin oak, which was naturally air dried and seasoned for three years before being toasted and charred.
On the nose, it delivers intense scents of oak, dark fruit and walnut, together with maple syrup. On the palate it is an explosion of dark chocolate, baking spices, pecan nut, ripe fruit and just a touch of vanilla. The finish is long, with baking spices and nuts.
93Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.</p
