#7 – TROIS RIVIÉRES MILLÉSIME 1999

COUNTRY: Martinique
ABV (PROOF): 42% (84)
PRICE: $ 150 | € 135

It is an AOC Martinique agricultural rum, made from the distillation of pure cane juice, on the site of La Mauny. It was aged in ex-bourbon casks for more than 10 years before being bottled.

It delivers scents of sandalwood, a touch of cinnamon, myrtle-leaved orange, and stewed apple. After a few minutes in the glass, some vegetal hints appear. It has a nice mouthfeel, with vanilla, wood, ripe fruits, a vegetal touch, and some walnut. The finish is medium-long. There are wood spices, a touch of cinnamon, and vanilla. It boasts a deep and structured flavor profile.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE

Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.

This list will be published in detail in CigarsLover Magazine issue #5 .
