Glen Scotia 50 year old The Elements of Campbeltown Collection: Air Scotch Single Malt

Glen Scotia has unveiled its first-ever 50-year-old single malt as the flagship release in The Elements of Campbeltown Collection, a new five-part series inspired by the natural elements. This exceptional whisky—Air—marks not only Glen Scotia’s oldest release to date but also the first 50-year-old single malt from Campbeltown, Scotland’s smallest whisky-producing region, since the Springbank Millennium bottling over two decades ago.

Distilled in 1973 and fully matured in refill American oak hogsheads, this rare expression highlights Glen Scotia’s signature maritime character. It is bottled at 42.3% ABV, with a suggested retail price of $45,000. Availability is extremely limited, with only 100 bottles released worldwide.

The Elements series will continue with future editions themed around fire, water, and earth, each reflecting the unique impact of nature on the whisky’s profile. The collection’s emblem—a Celtic five-fold knot—symbolizes the interconnection of these elements. Accompanying this inaugural release is a bespoke box featuring original artwork by UK artist Gina Parr, capturing the dynamic interaction between Glen Scotia’s bold spirit and the coastal sea air.
