Jack Daniel’s, known for its sour mash whiskey, occasionally uses sweet mash at the start of each distillation season to support its sour mashing. This limited-edition whiskey, bottled at 58.5% ABV and priced at $45 for 375ml, is a distillery exclusive that showcases this practice.
Distilled in 2016 from a sweet mash using Jack Daniel’s flagship recipe (80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye), it matured for about nine years in the Track 2 rickhouse. The barrels for this release were handpicked by Kathy Thurmond, the distillery’s whiskey taster and quality control manager.
