Nc’nean’s Huntress is an annual experimental release, with each edition showcasing a unique ingredient or production technique. The fourth edition focuses on experimental fermentation, utilizing a yeast strain derived from French sparkling wine production—an uncommon choice in Scotch whisky. Some of the whisky in this batch dates back to the distillery’s initial yeast trials in 2017, while the rest comes from distillates produced in 2019.
Crafted from 100% certified organic Scottish barley, the maturation recipe consists of 56% STR red wine casks, 42% American whiskey casks, and 2% oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 48.5% ABV, it is priced at $120 SRP. Availability is limited to 5,729 bottles worldwide, with 300 bottles allocated to the U.S. starting this month, imported by ImpEx Beverages Inc.
