New Riff Balboa Rye

Initially released in 2019, Balboa Rye is one of the first “specialty whiskeys” from New Riff. It is made from Balboa rye, an heirloom grain that dates back to the 1940s. The mash bill consists of 95% Balboa rye and 5% malted barley.

This whiskey is a bottled-in-bond expression that has been matured for a minimum of 4 years and is bottled non-chill-filtered at 50% ABV (100 proof). After expanding production, New Riff reintroduced this whiskey to the market in 2025. It is now available at select retail locations and at the distillery, with a suggested retail price of $54.99.
