Aberfeldy 12yo is the entry level proposal by the Highlands distillery on the Tay river.
Classic, yet very enjoyable. Honeyed layers on top of a fruity vanilla core of apples and plums, with a malty character. A hint of distant sweet smoke, like or sweet tobacco burning.
Despite the 40% ABV the sip is not watery. It is malty and sweet, with a vanilla core and lot of honey. The second part of the palate is more herbal, with some refreshing sides.
Short, clean and again pleasant.
