very ripe red fruit (strawberry, black cherry) and sometimes also black fruit (blackberry, currant). A vinous perhaps almost acetic at times character. For short moments it borders on chocolate pralines filled with strawberry / black cherry or in strawberries soaked in chocolate.
very easy to drink entrance, the alcoholic part does not shoot as in other products. It is confirmed persevering and balancing in the ex-sherry notes of ripe red fruit but not exaggeratedly, more on wild strawberries than jam. Even the sweetness is rather contained, of good quality vanilla. Over time, a note of very ripe blood orange takes over.
of decent duration, reminding red fruits gelee, now with a more evident and less sophisticated sugary note
Auchentoshan Three Wood is overall an interesting product, with evident sherried notes that nevertheless take a fairly delicate but present, pleasant fruity way. The alcohol content does not push, maintaining a good drinkability. The aromatic palette is not very deep, but the silky structure makes it an easy to appreciate whiskey.
