Bruichladdich 15yo by Chorlton Whisky is a bottling from the renown independent bottler, distilled on the 4th June 2002, aged in a single bourbon barrel until being bottled. It was released in only 146 bottles, at a cask strength of 59.5%.
extremely complex and multi-faceted. Aromatic wood (sandal), paired with costal feelings are immediately the most prominent notes, while in the background a sort of green, almost unripe fruitiness can be perceived. The palette is completed by a light smoke with dried hay and salted caramel with vanilla. Walnut and walnut liquor are also among the most evident descriptors. Very, very pleasant and rich.
mellow and oily from the very beginning, with a very well-balanced alcoholic note despite the high ABV. It shows a malty character, with tropical fruit, good quality vanilla and again with the rebound of coastal sensations. Complexity is also confirmed.
very long, with an impression of mushrooms, leather, a light enjoyable creaminess and a mineral, rather coastal background.
Bruichladdich 15yo by Chorlton whisky is overall a great whisky, where the ABV is high yet very well integrated, and the aromatic palette is very complex and rich, with a compact, yet multi-faceted experience. A true pleasure, which is a pity to know it was released in such a small outturn.
