The Camus VSOP Elegance is a pretty common Cognac. VSOP stands for Very Superior Old Pale, and it means the cognac is at least 4 years old. For the VSOP Elegance, Maison CAMUS selects aromatic eaux-de-vie partially distilled on the lees, including some from our famous Borderies cru, to strengthen the aromatic richness of this Cognac as it ages. The barrels used are medium toasted. Camus family is managed by the fifth generation. The origin of Camus dates back to 1863.
A mix of red and fruits, where apple and plum stand out. After a few moments in the glass, notes of wood, cherry and cocoa appear as well.
Wood, nail polish and a suave spicy component, mainly black pepper. Oily and sweet.
Medium-short persistence. It exhibits aromas of wood, caramel and ripe fruit.
Overall, the Camus VSOP Elegance is a Cognac equipped with a decent balance, although the flavor profile is not particularly structured. A decent entry-level cognac.
