Chorlton Whisky Ledaig 18yo is a 2024 release from the famous UK independent bottler. The outturn is 239 bottles.
Intense, rich and classy. The typical burnt aromatic herbs of the distillery are present, yet they deliver refined and polite notes over a high quality core of custard. At times the profile is enriched by pineapple and sweet Amalfi lemon, with a gingery touch of rose grapefruit. The alcohol profile is quite well managed.
This is even more intense, with the burnt aromatic herbs profile taking over, and an important contribution of salt. The creamy side is still present, but more in the background compared to the nose. Very high level of satisfaction.
Peated and salty, marine, with a final return of the sophisticated ripe yellow fruit which was perceived at the nose. Balsamic hints are almost present.
Chorlton Whisky Ledaig 18yo is an excellent bottling, rich and intense, with the typical DNA of the distillery well represented, yet integrated into a classy, elegant bourbon aging profile of custard and ripe yellow fruit.
