The Collectivum XXVIII is rather peculiar. Released on the market in 2017, it is a blended whisky consisting of barrels coming from the twenty-eight active distilleries of Diageo, the giant of the spirits world. Mannochmore, Auchroisk, Knockando, Glen Ord, Dailuaine, Glen Spey, Roseisle. Full gradation and undeclared age (NAS).
There is also a light and elusive smoky hint of bacon and peat. Lastly The high alcohol content does not present any problems while taste testing.
good initial intensity, supported by spicy hints in crescendo, among which are mainly white pepper and cardamom. The flavors are many, well amalgamated and mainly fruity: apricot, plum, yellow pear and then dried fruits, among which we can distinguish dates, figs and raisins. From the second sip onwards emerges a mineral note, slightly peated, joined by hints of black pepper and red fruits.
of medium-full intensity, gives rise to a long persistence. Green tea, yellow fruits and some spices are perceived. After a few minutes, a malt note is outlined.
The Collectivum XXVIII is a successful and curious blended whisky, as far as its creation is concerned. The intensity is excellent and the complexity above average.
