The Darroze Grands Assemblages 20 years old is an Armagnac belonging to the Grands Assemblages line, which includes a series of bottlings that are matured for a very long period of time. The other expressions count younger Armagnacs and much older as well (40, 50 and 60). Sweet scents of caramel and herbs, along with nail polish and notes of candy. It recalls a sort of a sugary scents. A fruity component is also noticeable and completes its aromatic bouquet.
It deliver spices, white pepper and chili, enriched with caramel and cocoa. Sugary and sweet. Then a fruity side is revealed.
Medium-long finish. There are notes of wood, sugar, and cocoa. Mildly dry.
Overall, the Darroze Grands Assemblages 20 yo develops an intense, harmonious and elegant flavor profile. It is not complex as the older versions, but it is a quite nice Armagnac.
