Dingle Lunasa is the forth release belonging to the Celtic Series of the Irish Distillery. It is triple distilled. This limited release honors the ancient Celtic celebration of Lúnasa, the beginning of the harvest season. Lúnasa Single Malt pays respects to the mother of Lugh, a god of Irish mythology, who is said to have died of exhaustion after preparing Ireland’s fields for farming.
Very pure and intense, with fresh apricot, peach, yellow apples, pink mature grapefruit. The vanilla impressions are quite sweet. Sugar covered lemons, with their sweet / acidic sensations.
Creaminess is medium, with the yellow fruit still quite intense and nice. There is a fresh side of herbs which may be due to the Window Jane casks.
Medium length, balanced, rather classy
Dingle Lunasa is overall a balanced product, where the high ABV pushes through the fresh bourbon casks flavors in an optimal way pairing to the triple distillation purity. The fruity impressions are high and clean, refined and matching an orange synesthesia.
