Evan Williams Extra Aged Bourbon is the classic bourbon from the brand named after Evan Williams, who opened Kentucky’s First Distillery along the banks of the Ohio River in 1783.
Light, yet pleasant. The simplicity of the vanilla can be appreciated, as well as the non-invasive oaky profile, not too toasted. Some minor sweet spices (cinnamon). The rye component is quite mild, resulting in just a fresh touch.
Maybe slightly watery when compared to the trendy barrel-proof bourbons, however the elegance and the easiness of drinking it is for sure helped. Again on cereals, mild sweetness, vanilla bean and sweet spices, with apple compote and light, unburnt caramel.
