Glendronach 1992/2017 Cask 63

It is not uncommon to come across a Glendronach Single Cask release by the distillery, or a selection of private individuals. The later is the case with the Italian importer of Glendronach: Beija-Flor. As always, it is bottled at cask strength, without the addition of caramel, and has a classic reddish dark mahogany color.

TASTING NOTES Glendronach 1992/2017 Cask 63

Nose

the usual heady scent which we are used to in the Glendronach single casks of the 90s. Dried fruits and red fruits: cherry, sour cherry, plum, dates, figs and almonds. Gum and cola are mixed with a barely perceivable note of black pepper.

Palate

sweet first impact, with an oily mouth-feel. The intensity is immediately remarkable, thanks to the high gradation. Spices, black pepper and then red fruits: cherries in spirit, sour cherries and plums. A note of orange jam is also noticeable. Spices increase with time.

Finish

long, of considerable intensity. Black pepper, red fruits (sour cherry), cocoa, herbs and dried fruits (dates) are present.

The usual monolithic Glendronach Single Cask. Very balanced, with a broad flavor profile.
