Hellyers Road 19yo Voyager Cask is a limited release (only 370 bottles) from 2022 by the Tasmanian distillery, which has been extensively aged for 16 years in first fill American Oak bourbon casks, and finished in 3 years brandy casks.
Beautiful and complex, intense and classy. The American Oak has provide roundness and deep palette of peaches, red apples, warm custard, malty biscuits. There is also some extra notes of sweet peat, just a buff of smoke adding complexity. Overall, a slightly dry, elegant sweetness envelopes the other aromas in a very nice overall sensation.
An excellent mix of sulphureous aromas, with earthy peat and ham’s fat, and a sumptuous fruity core of apples, peaches, tangerine and grapefruit, with the elegant brandy touch. Very complex.
Medium-long, classy and slightly dry.
Hellyers Road 19yo Voyager Cask is an exceptional release from the Tasmanian distillery, elegant and classy, yet packing some interesting level of complexity given by the sulphureous hints of peat and ham’s fat, on top of a yellow fruit intense core. Long lasting and truly nice to experience.
