Highland Park Cask Strength Batch 4 is the 2023 bottling from the Orkney distillery belonging to the series which started in 2020.
It is incredibly silent in terms of alcohol at this ABV. The Orkney DNA can be immediately perceived, with a very gentle candle smoke on top of a very nice boast of heather honey, fragrant and pleasant. Flowery at moments despite the intensity, which is very remarkable. A sophisticated mineral touch is also very inviting. Truly nice.
Again very intense, with the classy and elegant nose which is now more robust in terms of fatty ham, mineral peat, chestnut honey and salty German butter. Not too sweet, with some barley malt and a nice complexity around the core of strawberry jam.
Long, helped by the important ABV, however never too alcoholic.
Highland Park Cask Strength Batch 4 is another great release to this very nice series, which is bringing the Orkney DNA to a different level of intensity; the typical aromas of candle smoke and heather honey seem to truly appreciate a higher ABV and become capable of delivering an elegant nose sided by a more robust, intense and enjoyable core of strawberry juice with fatty ham and chestnut honey. A great product.
