The Kraken Spiced Rum is made in Trinidad & Tobago. After being aged for 1-2 years, the blend involves the use of a mix of eleven spices, which include cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. It is presented in two bottles, one of 37.5 cl and the classic of 70 cl.
Spicy notes are perceptible on the nose, including rich aromas of cinnamon. Then comes the caramel, vanilla, and ginger, with a smoky touch. The spicy component is strong, almost pungent.
A mix of spices is delivered, where cinnamon and cloves stand out. Then follow aromas of caramel and aromatic herbs, combined with notes of vanilla, completing the flavor profile. Very sweet.
The persistence is medium-short. Notes of caramel and spices are perceptible.
Overall, the Kraken Spiced Rum is a product more suited for being used in a cocktail rather than to be savored on its own. Having that said, it has an intense aromatic palette, mainly due to the spices used in its blend. In terms of structure and aromatic depth, on the other hand, all the lack of aging is perceivable. Therefore one-dimensional bouquet.
