Laberdolive has been making brandy for over 100 years and this is a 12 year old Armagnac from the Bas region.
It releases notes of precious woods, solvents and varnishes, followed by raisins, a slight smoky scent and a little "roughness", which is very pleasant. There are also notes of honey. Fresh.
Ripe banana, candied orange peel, cigar box and paints. Then the solvents reappear, followed by pine needles and juniper berries. Delicate spicy and woody notes also arrive.
Persistence is medium. Aromatically there is again the aroma of cigar box and orange peel.
Overall, the 12-year-old Laberdolive Terre Bouc is a well-made armagnac, which is not unbalanced on the woody side.
