Nine Leaves Almost Spring Cabernet Sauvignon

Nine Leaves is the brand created by the Japanese Yoshiharu Takeuchi, who personally built the distillery and where he currently carries out all the tasks, from the shipper to the distillation, from the worker to the manager. The labels bear nine bamboo leaves, which recall the symbol of Yoshiharu Takeuchi's family. Specifically, this product is obtained from Muscovado cane sugar (called Kokuto in Japan), a pure unrefined cane sugar, which is distilled twice in pot-still and then aged for a year in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from the vineyard Californian Wente in the mountains of Shiga Prefecture.

TASTING NOTES - NINE LEAVES ALMOST SPRING CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Nose

Elegant and refined, with fresh berries and youthful winey scents. There are also raisins, together with a mineral hint.

Palate

The sip is fresh and joyful, more akin to a single malt than a rum, with peppery hints, fragrant biscuits, and edible flowers. Round and warm.

Finish

Medium long. White pepper, raisins, and spices.

The Nine Leaves Almost Spring Cabernet Sauvignon is a triumph of Japanese precision in wisely weighing the influence of ex-wine casks.
