Nobushi Blended Whisky is said to be made following an artisanal process and using a combination of whiskeys from the Miyagi and Nagano prefectures. These spirits are later mixed and aged in American oak casks in the village of Kiyokawa, a name meaning “pure river”, which is located between east Tokyo and the area around Mount Tanzawa to the west. The term Nobushi is referring to a sort of outsider or civilian warrior of the ancient Japanese culture.
Very simple, the aging seems to have contributed minimally to this spirit, which is still almost naked: minor malty notes, raw cereals, some liquid sugar sweetness (rather basic indeed)
Very neutral, almost watery, with the liquid sugar sweetness which is coming straight forward, in a very entry level way. A very distant unripe fruit note, with a hint of lemon candy.
Extremely short, again on truly simple sweetness, not really pleasant.
Nobushi Blended Whisky is a truly simple product, with a very entry level sweetness which is covering any other very vague note.
