Okayama Single Malt is a Japanese single malt, created at the Miyashita distillery, in the Okayama prefecture (southern Japan). This product was created to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the distillery, which also produces sake, beer and shochu. The first whiskey production in this distillery is as recent as 2011.
Fresh scents of sea breeze and cut grass. Suave peaty and smoked notes can be perceived in the background. Cedar is outlined after a few moments.
Very contained. There are hints of wood with vanilla nuances present. There is an almost imperceptible note of white pepper lingering in the background.
Medium short persistence. Spicy nuances of white pepper and citrus, among which the cedar peel stands out.
Overall, the Okayama Single Malt is a Japanese whiskey that is not particularly incisive and has a rather limited flavor intensity. In contrast, the price is particularly high.
