dense profile of very ripe fruit: orange, peach, passion fruit. All with abundant vanilla bean, intense, but not blatant. Roasted and intense caramel. The woody dimension is in the background, not very astringent. Tasty.
triumph of vanilla, at times very intense. Sweet spicy side present and very warm, with cinnamon, anise, cardamom. Very ripe navel orange, or juice of the same. At times the woody component becomes just bitter, with notes that perhaps recall the peel of the same orange.
the orange peel, with its very pleasant bitter notes mentioned above, returns in the first place; it is recomposed almost immediately in a long non-trivial sweetness, of spicy oak.
Old Ezra 7 Years Old is overall an interesting bourbon, of good intensity and depth of the aromatic palette, not very complex, but not even monochord. It invites repeated olfactory tests to capture all the fruity notes and repeated sips to distinguish the different parts of the same orange, variegated spices and thin wood. Pleasant and well balanced.
