Reservoir Holland's Milkman is a limited edition, distillery bottling bourbon, aged for a minimum of two to three years in Reservoir's "small barrel" casks, then finished in an Ardent milk stout barrel for a further two and one half years. Batch #4 from year 2021 is composed of 15% wheat, 70% corn, and 15% rye.
Cherry, cherry and cherry; a very intense boast of alcohol cherries, with some sweet spices a minor oaky contribution. Strong vanilla of medium quality. An evident, direct bourbon character.
Cherry is for sure present, but the palate is also featuring some more intense vanilla and woody notes. The second part of the palatal experience turns into a slightly more bitter sensation, herbal but also very dark chocolate. Alcohol is slightly pushy, while the texture can be considered as rather unique, creamy and leaving a special aftertaste.
Medium length, vanilla and oak, with a distinct cherry flavor. The vanilla looks very much like the milkshake flavor one.
Reservoir Holland's Milkman is a particular bourbon with some of the standard bourbon palette aromas, where oak and vanilla notes are side tastes of the main cherry flavor, pretty intense. At the same time the texture makes it a different experience, there is a unique, rarely seen before creamy texture on the palate, which makes it a different experience. A particular product with a high ABV, a true exercise of creativity.
