The Sazerac Rye carries the legacy of a legendary history. Sazerac was in fact the name of the mythical New Orleans club where in 1850 the homonymous cocktail was invented, one of the first in the world, based on rye whiskey, Peychaud, and absinthe (originally with cognac, but then passed to rye after that in 1870 phylloxera destroyed the French vines). Today Sazerac Company is one of the largest whiskey producers in America with a ton of successful brands and products, but this bottle has become its flagship image for obvious reasons.

Made in Kentucky at the Buffalo Trace distillery, mash and aging are not declared, but there is talk of 51% rye for six years in virgin barrels. Gradation of 45%.

It is not just a question of name and aesthetics, although it must be admitted that the charm of its bottle is undoubted. The intense profile and the persuasive taste make Sazerac Rye not only the perfect ingredient for the homonymous cocktail but also a satisfying whiskey to drink neat. It will hardly tire you.
