The Talisker 18 years old is a very solid and renowned product, a classic of the distillery located on the Isle of Skye. It has always been a product that excels and is quite representative of the brand.
Elegant and refined, it develops hints of citrus fruits (lemon peel) and precious spices, which are outlined in white pepper. A trace of wood and sweet notes of ripe fruit and dried fruit is perceptible.
Spicy right from the start. White pepper and some spicy echoes are perceptible, accompanied by wood and fruity notes (apple and pear) with a very slight hint of red fruit (raisins). Lastly, a light smoking.
Medium to long persistence. Very spicy. Cocoa and notes of dried fruit are also outlined.
Overall, the Talisker 18 years old is a scotch whiskey with an excellent harmony and balance to say the least. It is as refined and elegant as it is pleasant to savor. A must, yardstick for many other high-end whiskeys.
