TBWC Ledaig 21yo Batch 11 is a release from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, the brand belonging to Master of Malts, the important UK whisky merchant. This batch belongs to 2018, while batch 21 has been recently released in 2023.
The peated smoke from Tobermory distillery is a trademark here, with animal and cheese scents. Very organic and rich in aromatic burnt herbs.
Intense, yet well-balanced, with a fiery peatiness with again burnt herbs, enough minerality, some coastal notes, but also following the hints of gourmand, cheesy character. In the background preserved lemons and smoked black tea. Complex and very pleasant, with silent alcohol.
Medium-long, again on burnt aromatic herbs and smoked cheese.
TBWC Ledaig 21yo Batch 11 is a great product, capable of evoking the typical character of the high quality peated release of the Tobermory distillery, concentrating on burnt aromatic herbs of Mediterreanen origin, gourmand smoked cheese and a certain minerality. Very nice.
