The Tomintoul Tlàth is a Scotch whisky, that was released on the market in 2016. “Tlàth”, in Gaelic, means “gentle, honeyed” and the name was chosen precisely because it reflects the main characteristics of this product. The maturation of this whiskey takes place in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which are selected by hand. This bottling was created to offer a Scotch at a high quality/price ratio.
The alcohol component is perceivable. Yellow fruit (apple and melon), a hint of candied orange and aromatic herbs.
Notes of malt and yellow apple, with a touch of vanilla and hints of orange peel.
medium persistence. White pepper, yellow apple, and hints of Thousand flower honey.
Overall, the Tomintoul Tlàth is a fairly harmonious Scotch, even if the youth of this malt is perceived throughout, especially on the nose. A deecnt dram, without too many pretensions.
