The Trois Rivieres VSOP is a rum produced in Martinique. It is aged for about 5 and a half years in European (Frech) and American white oak barrels.
At the olfactory approach aromas of ripe fruit emerge, among which plum stands out, followed by brine. After a few moments, the fruity component is also enriched with a vegetable touch.
Notes of brine, sugary and caramel emerge on the palate. Then follow hints of fruit, sweets and shades of woody spices. It is also quite acidic.
The persistence is medium and on the finish it turns out to be a bit too sour and dry. Fruity.
Overall, Trois Rivières VSOP is a Martinique rum with a fairly broad aromatic profile and good intensity.
