White Oak Tokinoka is a blended Japanese whiskey. The distillery is located in Hyogo prefecture. Compared to many other Japanese whiskeys, the price isn't that high, but that doesn't always mean it's good value for money.
At first sight it reveals delicate hints of nuts, walnut, mallow, together with a marked note of pear. An oily and herbaceous sensation follows, with a touch of caramel.
Enveloping. It develops notes of dehydrated fruit and dried fruit (especially hazelnut), followed by aromas of caramel, cereals and honey. Wood spices complete the flavor profile.
Persistence is medium. The notes of wood, coffee beans and dried fruit return. On the finish you can see nuances of licorice.
Overall, White Oak Tokinoka is a whiskey with a simple touch. However the complexity is rather limited as it is not very structured. You can see all his youth in every single sip.
