Wilson & Morgan Glen Moray 18yo Sherry Finish Oloroso is a release from the famous Italian independent bottler, distilled in 2006 and released in 2024 with an outturn of 540 bottles from a first-fill Oloroso butt.
Rich, intense, classy; a true Oloroso instant classic, a release mixing very well the mellow caramel of an 18yo Speysider and the quality of nice, traditional Oloroso butts. The long 48 months finish has provided tamarind, dark dried plums, some excellent wood spices (nutmeg and macis) and a hint of raisins, without compromising the main nutty (hazelnut) sensations.
Excellent roundness and intensity. Where some edges of time can be expected, especially after a long finish, here the sip is velvety despite a unique intensity. Very well crafted, a true meditation experience.
Medium-long, still round, with some sweet rhubarb notes and again tamarind.
