Yoichi Distillery Limited Blended Whisky is a blend from Nikka's brand marrying malt with grain whiskeys. It is sold in bottles of 500 ml.
Fresh and pleasant, flowery and lemony. The overall impression is of sweet lemon over a main core of flowers, for a refined, yet slightly feminine bouquet. There is a touch of salt coming through. In the background, a certain complexity is not capable of reaching the surface, mainly reminding of oxidative hints (overripe orange and plums such as in certain Ben Nevis).
There is a certain minerality here, maybe a distant coastal peat. It is for sure less flowery than the nose, with more orange and a pinch of salt, over a semi-sweet core with some light spices. The body is light, but this helps the drink to be pleasant and simple. A touch of astringency, such as in a zesty profile.
Short and pleasant, again on light orange and lemon, yet with a touch of minerality and some minor bitter notes.
Yoichi Distillery Limited Blended Whisky is a light, fresh product, mainly playing on lemon and orange, with a light body. However the drink is pleasant and interesting, perfect for a spring sip, and with hints of complexity which can be appreciated.
