The Templeton’s Rye Barrel Strength is at its fourth release with the 2022 edition, which first began in 2018 and that didn’t see any release for the year 2021. Templeton’s Iowa distillery was completed a few years ago, and till now all of the whiskey continues to be produced at MGP in Indiana, with a mash bill made of 95 percent rye and 5 percent malted barley. For this release, the barrels vary in age.
“Our Barrel Strength series is dedicated to producing innovative offerings with compelling taste profiles and our Barrel Strength 2022 iteration is our most exciting release yet,” said senior vice president of Templeton Distillery, Blair Woodall, in a press release. “We’re delighted to share this new Barrel Strength 2022 expression with the world of our fans who seek a quality rye.”
It is bottled without chill filtration at 57.3% ABV (114.6 proof). It is available since September 2022 in the US and in select international markets, including the EU. The SRP is $59.99.
