The Confluence Project

A confluence is the meeting of two rivers, and for New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, and Chattanooga Whiskey in Tennessee, The Confluence Project symbolizes their partnership through a shared mashbill: a 100% wheat whiskey made from four types of wheat, 60% red turkey, 24% Appalachian malted, 8% dark malted, and 8% caramel malted.

Despite the common mashbill, the production processes were different. New Riff followed its standard methods with limestone-filtered water, four-day fermentation, and barrel entry at 110 proof, while Chattanooga fermented for a week, varying the barrel entry proof between 111 and 120, and aged in different barrel types.

Both whiskeys aged for six years and will be released as single barrels. They are now available and at a suggested retail price of $70.
