Westland has launched the second batch of its Beer Cask Finish American Single Malt, featuring an ABV of 46% and a suggested retail price of $75, with 12,840 bottles available. This whiskey is blended from five grains and aged in new oak, bourbon, and rye barrels, then finished in four types of beer casks from the Pacific Northwest: stout/porter, brown ale, imperial Munich lager, and Foudre ale. It is at least 6 years old, with some components aged up to 9 years.
Westland also introduced the Wine Cask Finish American Single Malt (Batch No. 2), which has the same ABV and price, and includes 9,048 bottles. This whiskey is first aged in American oak barrels and finished in casks that held tempranillo, red blends, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, and merlot wines. The youngest whiskey here is 5 years old, and the oldest is 9.
Both whiskeys will be available on Westland’s website this month, with a nationwide rollout scheduled for September.
