The Westland Colere Edition 3 is an American single malt whiskey from Westland Whiskey. “Colere” comes from Latin and means “to cultivate.”
Westland Colere Edition 3 is made from a two-row barley named “Pilot,” a spring variety that has roots in the United Kingdom. “The third edition of Colere has an entirely different construction than its predecessors,” stated Shane Armstrong, the master blender. “Distilled from Pilot barley, this spirit aged in refill Westland casks features an herbal tea note; a characteristic conserved and bolstered by one second-fill Oloroso Hogshead.”
The barrels used are primarily refill Westland casks (93%) with a mix of heavy toast, light char, and light toast, heavy char. A second-fill oloroso sherry hogshead is also used. Only 4,629 bottles are available. The SRP is $149.99.
