The Glenfiddich Project XX Experimental Series is the second edition in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series after the IPA Experiment. Apparently, 20 Glenfiddich brand ambassadors gathered and each picked a cask after which all 20 casks were vatted to produce this whisky. The final composition reads 17 bourbon barrels, 2 sherry butts, 1 port pipe. The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at 47% ABV.
fresh apple juice, honey, vanilla and malt sweetness. The longer it stays in the glass the more sherried it gets: raisins, dried apricot, pineapple sweets, also cinnamon and Christmas cake feel, very pleasant.
nice arrival, good mouthfeel. Some grain action, raisins, dried fruit, blood oranges and licorice all sorts. Nice weight. Then it gets more savory with tobacco and some earth aromas.
medium persistency. Leafy, few oak tannins.
The Glenfiddich Project XX Experimental Series is harmonious e balanced. Quite a bit more interesting than the regular 12.
