Despite the low profile of the media, Matsui has a line of ten different malts. This 18-year-old is the most aged in the range: it comes from a blend of local whiskeys obtained from imported Scottish single malts, diluted before bottling with pure water filtered from the surrounding volcanic soil.

On the palate it is warm and enveloping. It releases aromas of cocoa, leather and hazelnut, with the addition of a touch of white pepper on a vegetable base.
The persistence is medium to long. A mix of spices, wood and cocoa is outlined.
