Tullamore DEW is a particularly popular and well-known Irish blended whiskey. It is no coincidence that the brand is in the top 3 of the best-selling Irish whiskeys. Not everyone knows, however, that the three letters "DEW" are the beginnings of the distillery's general manager at the end of the nineteenth century: Daniel E. Williams.
The nose is simple but at the same time shy. Notes of citrus are outlined, where the orange peel and vanilla stand out.
On the palate it is sweet. The aromatic bouquet is rather limited but the aromas are easily distinguishable: there are wood spices enriched by vanilla. It turns out pretty cool.
The persistence is rather limited. The sweetness is confirmed. Vegetable shades are perceived.
Overall, Tullamore DEW is a simple Irish whiskey to enjoy. Equipped with a rather contained aromatic palette, it is however harmonious and fresh. A decent entry level to enter the Irish whiskey world.
